Sameer Kumar

Senior Backend Engineer

Experienced in distributed systems, reliability engineering, cloud migrations, observability, and building backend infrastructure that scales. I build systems that survive production and tools that help engineers when things go wrong.

Key Achievements

๐Ÿ“ˆ

Scaled enterprise systems 6ร—

Designed and executed infrastructure migrations that grew throughput 6ร— while maintaining SLA guarantees โ€” from monolith to microservices at production scale.

๐ŸŽฏ

Improved availability 99.9% โ†’ 99.99%

Led reliability engineering initiatives that moved platform availability from three-nines to four-nines, reducing annual downtime from 8.7h to under 53 minutes.

โ˜๏ธ

Led cloud migrations

End-to-end ownership of on-prem to cloud migrations for critical backend services โ€” zero-downtime strategy, traffic cutover, and observability setup.

๐Ÿ”ง

Built critical backend systems

Designed and shipped high-traffic APIs, event-driven pipelines, and data-intensive services handling millions of events per day across distributed teams.

About this project

Incident Copilot was built to demonstrate senior-level full-stack engineering maturity with a focus on real SRE problems. The stack โ€” Next.js 15 App Router, TypeScript strict mode, Tailwind CSS, Zod, and a cleanly abstracted mock AI service โ€” is designed to be replaced with a real OpenAI backend with minimal changes.

The mock service returns pattern-matched responses for Kafka, database, memory leak, and payment failure scenarios โ€” all realistic enough to show what the product does, without needing live API keys.
